Dr. Jayanta Kumar Das

Dr. Jayanta Kumar Das is presently associated as a Senior Consultant with CFS & The Retina Centre Hospital, Guwahati, Apollo Hospital, Guwahati and Eye Care Centre, Guwahati. He is also the Founder and Chairman of Netra Jyoti Eye Hospital, Mangaldoi, with a mission to provide high-quality, affordable and compassionate eye care services.

Dr. Das previously served for more than two decades at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati, in various roles including Head of Department (HOD) – Neuro-Ophthalmology and Senior Consultant in Orbit, Oculoplasty, Ocular Trauma and Cataract Services.

He is a distinguished ophthalmologist with over 26 years of extensive clinical, surgical, academic and research experience. He is among the few ophthalmologists in India to hold a Ph.D. qualification, reflecting his dedication towards advanced research, innovation and excellence in eye care.

His key areas of expertise include Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, advanced Cataract Surgery, Ophthalmic Trauma and Neuro-Ophthalmology.

He has received more than 18 national and international awards and honours, published over 35 research articles in national and international journals, and delivered more than 100 invited lectures at prestigious ophthalmology conferences.

With his vast expertise, academic excellence and commitment towards ethical patient care, Dr. Das continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of ophthalmology and quality eye care.

Dr. Daisy Rani Das

Dr. Daisy Rani Das is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery, with over a decade of experience in advanced anterior segment care. She completed her MBBS from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in 2010, followed by MS in Ophthalmology from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Guwahati in 2015. She further pursued a prestigious long-term fellowship (FAEH) in Cornea and Anterior Segment Microsurgery from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, a globally renowned center for ophthalmic excellence.

She served as an Associate Senior Consultant at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati. Dr. Das is actively involved in high-volume surgical care, academic training, and clinical research. She has performed over 10,000 intraocular surgeries, including phacoemulsification, keratoplasty, and complex anterior segment procedures.

Her clinical expertise includes the management of corneal disorders, infectious keratitis, ocular surface diseases, and post-keratoplasty visual rehabilitation.

Dr. Das has a strong academic profile with numerous publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has delivered multiple presentations and faculty talks at state, national, and international conferences. As an academic mentor, she served as a chief guide for DNB and Masters in optometry thesis work.

Her areas of special interest include early detection of keratoconus in the Northeast Indian population, improving diagnostic pathways for infectious keratitis, and customizing refractive surgery outcomes through data-driven and technology-assisted approaches.

Dr. Das is the co-founder of Debalakshmi Medicare LLP, a healthcare startup aimed at building a technologically advanced, patient-centric eye care ecosystem in Northeast India.

Her long-term vision is to establish a center of excellence that combines clinical expertise, innovation, and scalable healthcare delivery models, contributing to improved visual outcomes and equitable access to high-quality ophthalmic care.
